Russian tea-party for Japanese students

A festive meeting of Japanese and Russian students took place on March, 23, at Russian Language and Culture Institute of Saint Petersburg State University. The event took place within the framework of a project "Two cities - two universities".

Project "Two cities - two universities" has been launched 5 years ago. It gives Japanese students a unique advantage to study Russian language and culture for 1 month at the leading Russian universities - Saint Petersburg State University and Moscow State University.

Petersburg part of the project was implemented at Russian Language and Culture Institute of SPbSU, a subdivision of Philological Faculty of the university which is in charge of Russian language programmes for foreign trainees.

An important component of tuition at Saint Petersburg, together with unique teaching techniques and up-to-date multimedia applications, was informal communication with Russian students. After excursion to the oldest Russian university Japanese students could talk to their colleagues from Russia at traditional Russian tea-party at the assembly hall of Russian Language and Culture Institute.

Students of Oriental and Philological faculties of Saint Petersburg State University and representatives of Japanese Center in Saint Petersburg also took part in this festive event.
